Replacement Velux Skylight Window

3 Solutions were recently instructed to install a replacement Velux Skylight Window in a traditional three storey period property in Bruton.

The window required replacing as the mechanism had broken, resulting in our customer not being able to close the window properly to keep it watertight or secure. The double glazed unit had also deteriorated and had started to delaminate, causing the glass to mist up.

3 Solutions were able to assign two operatives, one qualified Carpenter and one FENSA qualified Window Fitter/Surveyor to complete the works. Both operatives have received training in general Health & Safety including ‘operations working at height’ and were therefore able to prepare the work area accordingly to provide edge protection once the old window had been removed. Externally the roof tiles needed to be removed and re-installed to incorporate the new flashing around the replacement window.

All operatives take great pride in the work they complete and are always considerate to the environment they are working in to ensure that the area is left clean and tidy.
