Disabled shower room created from communal toilets for Mendip YMCA
3 Solutions were recently successful in securing a tender to renovate a set of communal toilets to a disabled shower room for the Mendip YMCA, based in Frome.
Their disabled shower room now allows increased accessibility to its users due to its size, as well as the following fixtures and fittings, including;
- grab rails for accessibility
- a lowered shower tray surrounded by an altro marine wetroom floor with cap and cove detailing to ensure a watertight room
- tile board panels to replace white tiles for easy maintenance and cleaning, the tile board was chosen by Mendip YMCA to reflect the organisations corporate colour scheme
- ergonomic taps which were set at an appropriate height for easy use and cleanliness
- installed passive infared sensor (PIR) lighting where motion sensors are used to detect body movements which then triggers the light
This new shower room is a welcome addition to the Mendip YMCA and in particular the end users of the scheme in Frome, if you would like to discuss how we can alter a room to meet your needs, contact us today on 01749 344155 or enquiries@3solutionsltd.co.uk
